failure

Failure?

Society shackled tongue avoids me
Woe, I was beaten before I began
God Damn it, I can Not write po’etry

To these pale lips comes no irony
Always, a road more taken kind of man
Society shackled tongue avoids me

Faced with Form, ghastly tone or imagery
I should have kissed the river, or ran
God Damn it, I can Not write po’etry

Rhythm escapes me, rhyme I can not see
Artistic allusions fill just this hand
Society shackled tongue avoids me

Impossible to write poetically
To those stupid few who say that I can
Society Shackled tongue avoids me
God Damn it, I can Not write (good) po’etry

This villanelle form poem is about over coming doubt in your life.
